All About Depression   Information on symptoms, treatment, research, online resources and more, from Mental Health Net.

Dr. Ivan's Depression Central   Billing itself as "Internet's central clearinghouse for information on all types of depressive disorders," this site has links to more information than you probably will ever want to know about depression.  Some is technical, some more basic, and some refers to isolated studies that need more research.

Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance   An education and advocacy site focusing on depression and bipolar disorders.

Eating Disorders

National Eating Disorders Association   Facts and general information on eating disorders, including Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia, with suggestions on how to help a friend.

National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders   Information and advocacy for eating disorders.

Anorexia Nervosa and Related Eating Disorders Inc.  Information and definitions, including information on less well-known eating disorders.

Financial & Credit Counseling

Crown Financial Ministries   Financial management tools and information from a Christian perspective.

National Foundation for Credit Counseling   A non-profit organization of over 1400 agencies providing free or low-cost counseling to those facing difficulties with indebtedness.  They can often intervene with creditors in the process of establishing a workable plan.  Local offices as well as online help available.

Marriage & Family

Family.org   Resources and information for the family from a Christian perspective, maintained by Focus on the Family.

Marriage Builders   A site by Willard F. Harley, Jr., Ph.D., author of His Needs, Her Needs, that is helpful for couples.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter   Beginning within the Catholic Church, this popular program for married couples has now been embraced by many protestant denominations as well.  Focusing on communication, their goal is to "help married couples turn a good (or even ho-hum or boring) marriage into a great marriage."

FamilyLife   Over 1,000,000 people have attended their conferences, seminars and small groups for married and engaged couples.   FamilyLife is a division of Campus Crusade for Christ, an interdenominational Christian ministry.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation   A not-for-profit organization by and for people with OCD, providing research, information, resources and additional links..

Sexual Addiction

Prodigals International   A Christian organization offering helpful information for sexual addiction and infidelity to individuals and couples.  They also provide training to churches who wish to establish a ministry in this area.

Pure Intimacy   This website deals specifically with online sexual addiction.  Information and resources are available for the individual facing this kind of temptation, as well as for their spouse or loved one.  Maintained by Focus on the Family.

SexHelp.com   Information and help for sexual addiction from Patrick Carnes, Ph.D., a widely respected pioneer in the field, who authored the groundbreaking book, Out of the Shadows.

Suicide Information

If you or someone you know is currently contemplating suicide, it is important to know there are other options, and help is available!  Establish a relationship with a qualified counselor, or if the need is immediate, call a mental health hotline (look in the front of your phone book) or call 1-800-SUICIDE from anywhere in the U.S. If you already have a relationship with a family doctor, minister or therapist, you may also give that individual a call.

American Association of Suicidology   Information, resources, and a searchable database of crisis centers and support groups.
